Globe Chandelier

Beautiful “chandelier” made of 15 world globes. This 2m high piece of art was made by Benoit Vieubled and called “Monde à l’endroit, Monde à l’envers”.

My current project is titled 'Girl Anachronism' and it's taken me a long time to really execute what I'm trying to say. The idea was based of excessive internet/phone usage and taking a look at modern technology- how it affects what we do and how we live, especially in comparison to the pre-mobile and internet eras. There is a heavy focus on how I personally feel out of place and detached from everything that's going on today (musically). The birth of the internet has really changed the music industry and how we listen to our music. In a very small nutshell, I'm doing a lot of stuff on people I idolise from the 60s and 70s in music, there is a distinct emphasis on things that make these people unique. I still need to really show why it is these eras interest me so much from any other. So it's an illustration project based on diary entries, musicians and stuff from some 35mm film.
There is a connection I feel with this music that I don't in most 21st century music. Maybe it's because I feel as though it's all been done before... this project is more like a personal journey. So, in the end it may not be the best thing I've ever done but I hope I'll be proud of it and I know I'll learn a lot about myself.

I don't know whether I should be proud of having this many cameras or mildly embarrassed. I haven't got round to using half of them yet.

I developed some film today one from my Oktomat (never had a successful film from that camera) and another from my new Yashica that doesn't have a light meter. They both came out as well as I could have expected. I'm really pleased to be honest, especially with the Yashica. I managed to get the exposure right on the vast majority of them.
